Flora Europaea saxicole calciphile from the upper nemoral belt (beech forest area) north-western Balkan Cerastio banatici-Festucetum dalmaticae, Erysimo comati-Stipetum eriocaulis, Danthonio-Chrysopogonetum gryllii, Seslerietum filiifoliae R3410, R3412, R3501, R3502 In Romania only in the Banat mountains adjacent to Iron Gates Danube defile area           This saxicole xeric species as Centaurea calvescens Pancic is endemic for the Iron Gates area.
